The honest answers.
My G-RAID array shows as degraded — is my data still there?
Usually, yes. A "degraded" state generally means one member drive has dropped out of the array, not that data has been lost — provided the array is not written to further. We image every drive individually before attempting any rebuild.
My G-DRIVE is clicking or ticking. What should I do?
Power it off immediately and stop trying to reconnect it. Clicking indicates a mechanical fault, and continued power cycles risk further internal damage. Send the unit to us for diagnosis rather than attempting a DIY fix.
The drive is ArmorLock or FileVault encrypted. Can you still recover it?
Yes. We regularly recover data from encrypted SanDisk and G-Technology volumes, working within the correct authentication process for each encryption scheme.
Do you outsource any part of the recovery?
No. Every stage — diagnosis, imaging, RAID reconstruction and extraction — is carried out in-house in our Belfast lab under one chain of custody, which matters for both data security and legal admissibility.
Can you handle a case that may end up in court?
Yes. We provide chain-of-custody imaging and court-ready expert witness reports as standard for forensic and investigative cases, including intellectual property and data tampering disputes.
