Before anything else

The first hour matters most.

Most unrecoverable servers are made unrecoverable by well-meant rescue attempts.

  • Do not rebuild the array. A forced rebuild onto a degraded set is the most common cause of total loss we see.
  • Do not replace drives and re-initialise. Initialisation overwrites configuration data recovery depends on.
  • Do not run repair utilities (chkdsk, fsck) on suspect volumes — they "fix" file systems by discarding what they cannot parse.
  • Do power down cleanly, label drive order, and note what happened and what has been tried.

    Evaluation & fixed quote

    Drives are imaged and the array structure analysed in the lab. You receive an honest recoverability assessment and a fixed quote before any recovery work.

    Recovery on clones

    All reconstruction happens on verified images — your original drives are never put at further risk.

    Verification & return

    Recovered data is verified against your priorities — databases mount, VMs boot, files open — then returned on encrypted media.

All prices below are net (before VAT). We add VAT at 20% on top — shown beneath each price as “inc VAT”, which is the total you actually pay. For example, a £425 net recovery is £510 including VAT. VAT-registered businesses can usually reclaim it.

How fast can you start?

Critical cases start immediately — the emergency line (07938 182 909) reaches an engineer 24/7 and devices can be received or collected same-day across the UK and Ireland.

Two drives failed in our RAID 5. Is it gone?

Usually not. Multi-drive failures are our standard workload: failed members are individually recovered in the lab, then the array is reconstructed from the images. What kills arrays is rebuild attempts — not the second failure itself.

Our IT provider already tried a rebuild. Is it still recoverable?

Often, yes — but stop now. Partial rebuilds overwrite data progressively, so what remains recoverable shrinks with every further attempt. Send it to the lab as-is and we will tell you honestly what is left.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes, routinely — and every case, with or without one, is handled under confidentiality and a documented chain of custody in our own laboratory.
