Cyber & Data Security Awareness Training
Ransomware rarely breaks in. Someone lets it in.
Employee awareness training for businesses across Northern Ireland — built on what we actually see when a breach reaches our lab, not a generic slide deck. Fewer clicked links, fewer misconfigured systems, fewer calls to us in an emergency.
The problem
We investigate the breach. Training prevents it.
Every hacked server, encrypted RAID array and compromised VM that reaches our laboratory has a story behind it — and it is very rarely a sophisticated attack.
In our day-to-day recovery and forensics casework, the pattern repeats constantly:
- An employee clicks a convincing phishing email and hands over credentials or lets ransomware onto the network
- Antivirus and firewall settings are misconfigured or left on default, so protection that should exist simply is not working
- Passwords are weak, reused or shared across systems, turning one compromised login into a company-wide incident
- Network devices are overlooked — CCTV systems and network printers are increasingly used as an entry point into business networks, because nobody thinks to secure them
None of this requires a nation-state attacker. It requires one unaware employee and one unpatched device. Awareness training closes that gap — and it is far cheaper than the recovery and downtime that follows a breach.
Training coverage
Built around real attack patterns, not theory.
Phishing & Email Threats
Spotting convincing fake emails, invoice fraud and credential-harvesting links before anyone clicks.
Password & Access Hygiene
Strong, unique credentials, multi-factor authentication, and why shared logins are a standing risk.
Device & Remote Working Security
Safe practice for laptops, mobile devices and home working — locking, encrypting and reporting loss immediately.
Network Devices & CCTV
Printers, CCTV recorders and other network-connected hardware are common, overlooked entry points — staff are shown what to look for.
Recognising a Live Incident
What ransomware and account compromise actually look like as they happen, and the first correct action to take.
When Prevention Fails
If a breach or hardware failure does occur, our in-house digital forensics team investigates what happened — part of our wider digital forensics and eDiscovery service.

Questions
Asked by NI business owners and office managers.
We are a small business — is this really necessary for us?
Yes, arguably more so. Smaller businesses are frequently targeted precisely because they are assumed to have weaker defences and no dedicated IT security team. A single successful phishing email can cause the same downtime and cost for a five-person office as a five-hundred-person company.
How long does the training take?
Sessions are kept short and focused — typically under an hour — because retention drops sharply in longer sessions. We would rather your staff remember the key points than sit through a full day and forget most of it.
Do you actually test staff, or just present slides?
Both. A presentation without testing tells you nothing about real behaviour. We include a simulated phishing exercise so you get an honest, measurable picture of where the risk actually sits.
What happens if a breach happens anyway?
Speak to us immediately. As the same laboratory that investigates ransomware attacks, hacked servers and data breaches daily, we can assess what has happened, contain further damage and, where devices or data have been affected, recover and investigate under one roof.
Can you help with securely retiring old equipment as well?
Yes — insecurely disposed-of hardware is a common route for old data to resurface. Our certified data destruction service covers drives and devices being retired as part of a wider security review.
