Contact

Speak to the lab, not a script.

Every enquiry reaches someone who actually works on cases — not a call centre. Use the emergency line only for business-critical incidents; for everything else, we're a call, message or short visit away.

I.

Two routes in

Routine, or right now.

Which channel to use depends entirely on how urgent your case is.

  • Routine enquiries — quotes, case updates, standard recoveries. Use our office line during business hours.
  • Business-critical incidents only — a server, RAID or NAS down, a legal deadline, CCTV evidence at risk of being overwritten. Use the 24/7 emergency line and an engineer picks up, not a call handler. Emergency rates apply.

If you're not sure which applies, call the office line first — we'll redirect you immediately if it needs to move faster. Every case, whichever route it arrives by, runs through the one in-house Belfast laboratory with a single chain of custody, as set out on our About page.

The laboratory

Belfast, by appointment.

Devices can be dropped off in person or posted in securely — whichever suits your case.

Data Forensics Ltd, 117 Ormeau Road, BT7 1SH, Belfast, UK. Get directions →

  • Visits are by appointment only — call ahead or book a slot so an engineer is ready for you.
  • Post-in devices are welcome from anywhere in the UK and Ireland — request an assessment first and we'll confirm secure packaging and handling.
  • Every device is logged against a documented chain of custody from the moment it arrives.

After you contact us

From first call to your data back.

  1. 01

    Tell us what happened

Describe the symptoms, the device and anything already tried — this alone can rule out the highest-risk mistakes.

  2. 02

    Diagnosis & fixed quote

Your device is assessed in the lab and you receive an honest recoverability view and a fixed price before any recovery work starts.

  3. 03

    Recovery in the lab

All work happens in-house, on verified images, under one chain of custody — nothing is subcontracted out.

  4. 04

    Verified return

Recovered data is checked against your priorities and returned to you on encrypted media.

Questions

Before you call.

What's the difference between the office line and the emergency line?

The office line covers routine enquiries, quotes and case updates during business hours. The emergency line is strictly for business-critical incidents that cannot wait — an outage, a legal deadline, or evidence at risk of being overwritten — and is answered 24/7 by an engineer. Emergency rates apply, so please use "Call Us" for anything that isn't time-sensitive.

Do I need an appointment to visit the lab?

Yes — visits to 117 Ormeau Road are by appointment only, so call or book ahead and an engineer will be ready for you. If a visit isn't practical, posting your device in is just as effective.

Can I post my device instead of bringing it in?

Yes — most cases arrive by secure courier from across the UK and Ireland. Start with a quote request or a call and we'll confirm packaging advice and where to send it.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes, routinely — and every case, with or without a separate NDA, is handled under confidentiality and a documented chain of custody in our own laboratory.

How quickly will someone respond?

Calls and the emergency line are answered live. WhatsApp and email enquiries are typically answered within one working day, sooner for urgent cases flagged as such.
