About Data Forensics
Real engineers. One lab. No outsourcing.
Data Forensics is Northern Ireland's only full-service, in-house data recovery laboratory — a certified Class 10 cleanroom, one engineer-led chain of custody, and nothing shipped off to a subcontractor you'll never speak to. Founder-led, and built on 10+ years of recovering data other labs turn away.
From Nico, founder
Hi, I'm Nico.
The person people turn to when their data is in real trouble.
For over ten years I've been helping businesses and individuals across Northern Ireland recover lost files, repair damaged drives, and bring critical systems back to life. Whether it's an SSD, a RAID server, or an everyday storage device, I specialise in finding a way through when it feels like everything is lost.
Unlike other data recovery and forensics companies who ship your device across the UK — risking postal delays or damage along the way — I operate the only full-service data recovery lab in Northern Ireland, equipped with a certified Class 10 cleanroom. That means delicate drive repairs happen on-site, under my own roof, giving you the best possible chance of a successful recovery.
- Everything happens on-site in our own certified Class 10 cleanroom — no risking your drive on a courier run to a mainland lab.
- One chain of custody, start to finish. The engineer who diagnoses your device is part of the same team that recovers and verifies it.
- Diagnosis first, fixed quote before work begins — never open-ended billing.
When data loss strikes, time matters — the sooner you act, the higher your chances of getting it back. Don't delay; get in touch today for expert help.
Alongside our core data recovery service, the lab also handles digital forensics and eDiscovery instructions and certified data destruction for organisations that need a documented, auditable process from a single provider.
How we work
What actually makes us different.
In-House Laboratory
The only full-service data recovery lab based in Northern Ireland — devices stay on-site rather than travelling to a mainland facility.
Certified Class 10 Cleanroom
Physical drive work — head swaps, platter transplants, board-level repair — carried out to the standard the drive itself requires.
One Chain of Custody
Your device is never handed between subcontractors. A single, documented custody trail from intake to return — essential for legal and forensic cases.
Learn more →Fixed-Quote Pricing
Diagnosis first. You approve a fixed price before any recovery work starts — the cost you're quoted is the cost you pay.
Learn more →Confidentiality & NDAs
Signed routinely for solicitors, corporates, insurers and public bodies — and every case is handled under confidentiality regardless.
10+ Years in Practice
Founder Nico personally oversees the lab and its more complex cases — SSDs, RAID arrays, hard drives, ransomware incidents and everyday storage alike.

Questions
What people ask before they commit.
Is the lab actually based in Northern Ireland?
Yes. Our certified Class 10 cleanroom facility is here — devices aren't couriered off to a mainland lab or an unnamed subcontractor.
Do you outsource any part of the recovery?
No. Diagnosis, physical repair, imaging, logical reconstruction and verification all happen in-house, under one chain of custody, from intake to return.
Do you handle confidential or legally sensitive data?
Regularly. We sign NDAs on request for solicitors, corporates, insurers and public bodies, and every case — with or without one — is handled under confidentiality with a documented custody trail.
Who actually works on my device?
Engineers, not a call centre. Founder Nico leads the lab and is personally involved in its more complex and time-critical cases.
What will it cost, and when do I find out?
Diagnosis first, always. You get an honest recoverability assessment and a fixed quote before any recovery work begins — so there's never an open-ended bill.
Tell us what happened and we'll give you an honest recoverability view and a fixed quote before any work begins.
